Common Questions

FAQ

How long does a custom build take?

Lead times depend on the spec, what's already in our queue, and how custom the build is. Once we know what you want, we'll give you an honest timeline before any deposit changes hands. We don't promise dates we can't hit.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes — custom builds require a deposit before we start work. The amount and payment schedule depend on the scope of the project. We walk through it with you upfront so there are no surprises later.

Can I bring my own engine or jet drive?

Absolutely. Many customers source their own power package, and we'll work with what you bring. We can also help you spec the right setup if you're not sure. Just talk to us before you buy so we can make sure it'll fit and run properly.

What's the price for a new build?

Pricing depends on hull choice, layout, paint, rigging, and what you're putting under the hood. We don't have a one-size-fits-all number — give us a call and we'll quote your build honestly based on what you actually want.

Do you ship boats?

We can arrange transport for finished builds. Shipping costs are on top of the build price and depend on distance. Most customers pick up at the shop in Waterman.

What's your service area for repairs?

We're based in Waterman, IL and most of our repair work happens at the shop. Customers regularly trailer boats in from across the Midwest. If you've got something major and aren't sure if it's worth the haul, send us photos first.

How do I get a quote?

The fastest way is to call 815-970-0065 or fill out the contact form with what you're thinking. The more detail you give (photos, what you've already tried, what you want the boat to do), the more useful our response will be.

Do you only work on Jet Star hulls?

No — we'll do fiberglass repair, paint, and structural work on most boats regardless of who built them. Custom builds are on our three proprietary hull molds, but everything else is open.
